A prestigious auction at Edinburgh sale room Lyon & Turnbull features the second Part of the sale of Maisels Collection of British Ceramics, following Part I which took place in November last year. Following careers in medicine, David and Catriona Maisels retired to Scotland and began to build up a collection of ceramics. They had over 2,000 pieces beautifully displayed throughout their home, initially on the shores of Loch Tummel in Perthshire, and latterly in their elegant flat near the Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh.
The sale also includes a range of British and European paintings and sculpture, Georgian, Regency and Victorian furniture, a selection of textiles and carpets and works of art. Specialist collecting areas are represented, featuring ceramics, glass, folk art, clocks and scientific instruments.
