Pentlands Open Studios is a collective of professional artists whose studios are located near the upper valley of the Water of Leith, which rises in the Pentland Hills, near Edinburgh. Nestled in the southwest of the city, the artists work across a variety of media and craft disciplines, making it their mission is to connect with the local community and the broader public through their new annual Pentlands Open Studios art trail, complemented by a variety of creative events.

The Open Studios form a curated programme, with the aim of opening fifteen venues over a weekend in August (see left), all within the environs of Colinton, Juniper Green, Currie and Balerno – villages on the Water of Leith.

A new website has been put together, where you can subscribe to updates, and an Instagram page where you can keep on top of news as the trail takes shape in the run-up to August. An open call to artists and craft makers will begin on 15th March.
