Held every summer since 2004 in the village of the same name, Fortingall Art is one of Highland Perthshire’s most prestigious annual art exhibitions. Run by local artists, it features painting, jewellery, photography, sculpture, ceramics, glass and furniture in a beautiful rural setting and regularly draws over 2,000 visitors from all over the UK to the Arts and Crafts-style Molteno Hall (see below). This year over 30 artists are expected.
The village of Fortingall is famed for its ancient yew tree, estimated by modern experts at anything between 2,000 and 3,000 years old, making it one of Europe’s oldest living trees. Fortingall is also a great starting point to explore the wilder areas of Highland Perthshire, with Glen Lyon and Loch Tay nearby.
