Paisley Art Institute‘s 136th Annual Exhibition is on show at its now-permanent home at Glasgow Art Club, pictured below, on the city’s Bath Street. The Institute put out a call for online entries earlier this year, and the exhibition is marked by prestigious awards, artist-talks and demonstrations.

This year has seen the launch of The MacKean Awards, marking PAI’s long association with the Maclean family: brothers William Muir MacKean and JAD MacKean were instrumental in securing provision of galleries which have hosted the Institute’s annual exhibition, and their descendant Colin MacKean HPAI has helped in the efforts to secure PAI’s future.

The exhibition will be an unusual opportunity to see some of the Institute’s older works, such as guest artist Fra Newbery’s Paisley Shawl, pictured below.
