Whitespace Gallery in Edinburgh is set to show Impressions – a solo exhibition of wood engravings and linocuts by Masha Tiplady SWE.

Masha is an Edinburgh-based wood engraver and linocut artist, creating intricate prints by carving an image on linoleum or wood, and taking impressions from the carved blocks using traditional printmaking techniques, and an antique cast iron hand press.

Masha’s recent work focuses on the beauty of the natural world, with particular attention to the tiny, often overlooked details. Inspired by the landscape of Edinburgh’s Southside, and local plants, Masha layers colours and intricate patterns to create depth and complexity in each print.
The exhibition will be accompanied by printmaking demonstrations and workshops, with details on Masha’s website.
