Art curator Space to Breathe is returning to Bowhouse in St Monans, Fife with a collaborative exhibition curated with London gallery Purdy Hicks.

Titled Making Waves; Breaking Ground, it features works by eleven contemporary Scotland-based and international artists, selected for their innovative explorations of nature, with a particular focus on the elements of earth or water through painting and photography. Traditional concepts of landscape art are upended in the exhibition, reinforcing the urgency to rethink our relationship with the land and the evolving human connection to the natural world, at a time of climate emergency.

The exhibition showcases works by Julie Brook, Samantha Clark, Susan Derges, Jonathan Delafield Cook, Sandra Kantanen, Alexander Lindsay, Katherin Linkersdorff, Jorma Puranen, Anaïs Tondeur, Santeri Tuori and Sue Arrowsmith.

Bowhouse is a large, versatile exhibition space in Fife’s East Neuk, which is lined by a picturesque coastal trail, and within easy reach of Edinburgh.

Note the exhibition is not open 6th – 15th August.
